Creating new layers (6.5)In the Timeline window, you can split a layer at any point in time, creating two independent layers. After you split a layer, the duration of the original layer ends at the point in time that you split it, and the new layer starts at that point in time. (See "Creating new layers by splitting a layer" on page 115.) In After Effects 6.5, you can control the default stacking position of the new layer.
